Tyler Butterfield – Professional Triathlete
Returning to the triathlon scene only 18-months ago, Tyler Butterfield will be racing on Rolf Prima Carbon TT58's and rear Carbon Disc for the 2010 season. Butterfield first started racing triathlons in 2002, but left to pursue a professional cycling career in 2004. Racing on the Garmin-Slipstream development team, Butterfield brought home a handful of wins and top five finishes including the overall win at the Bermuda Grand Prix Cycling Tour in 2004.
Butterfield's first year back racing in triathlons has been an impressive one. Finishing third at IronMan 70.3 Monaco and forth at IronMan Cozumel, Butterfield has qualified for the 2010 IronMan World Championships held in Kona, Hawaii.
A native of Bermuda, Butterfield now resides and trains in Colorado. In 2004 Butterfield represented Bermuda in the Athens Summer Olympic games where he was the youngest male competitor in the triathlon games. Butterfield has his sights set once again to represent Bermuda at the 2012 Olympics held in London.
