A Tougher Vigor Wheel Option – Vigor RS
Eugene, OR - Rolf Prima’s commitment to developing innovative high performance wheels continues in 2004 with the introduction of the new Vigor RS wheel system. Largely derivative of the existing Vigor Wheel model that revolutionized the aerodynamic wheel category, the Vigor RS offers riders added impact strength with a minimal increase in weight.
The Vigor RS wheel system uses a standard front Vigor wheel, but offers a reinforced rim section on the rear wheel to improve impact strength and increase rear wheel stiffness. “A larger rider imparts a higher load on a wheel than a lighter one.” - says Brian Roddy, Rolf Prima design engineer. “Since most of the rider’s weight sits over the rear wheel, the added material and stiffness is a significant benefit for larger, more aggressive riders.”
The Vigor RS weighs in at 1450g per set and has the same 14 front, 16 rear bladed, stainless steel spokes as the standard Vigor wheel model.
Rolf Dietrich is the inventor of the paired-spoke bicycle wheel design. Rolf Prima wheel systems are protected by numerous patents in the US and other countries with several non-exclusive license agreements in force. Every Rolf Prima wheel system is hand-built in Eugene, Oregon.
