Rolf Prima Expands Wheel Line for 2005
Eugene, OR – Rolf Prima introduces two new wheel designs for 2005. Highly derivative of the topflight Vigor and Elan wheel models, the new Echelon and Aspin wheel systems offer riders hand-built quality and US made hubs at a more affordable price point.
The Echelon is an aerodynamic wheel set with 16 spokes in the front wheel and 20 in the rear. It has a 31mm tall rim and weighs 1640g / set. Considered an all-conditions wheel, the Echelon offers an excellent balance between aerodynamic performance and light weight at a suggested retail of $699.
The Aspin, named for the famous climb in the Tour de France, is a lightweight wheel with 20 butted spokes in the front wheel and 24 in the rear. The rim is 22mm tall and the wheel weighs 1500g / set. A true climbing wheel, the Aspin boasts minimal rotational weight with exceptional ride characteristics at a $699 retail price.
Both wheel systems incorporate many of Rolf’s patented design technologies including Paired Spoke Design™, Differential Flange Diameter™ and Zero Offset Flange Drilling™. Light, fast and made in the USA – features not found on wheels sold at these price points.
Rolf Dietrich is the inventor of the paired-spoke bicycle wheel design. Rolf Prima wheel systems are protected by numerous patents in the US and other countries with several non-exclusive license agreements in force.
