Bobby Sweeting of Land Rover-Orbea brings home the Silver

This past week, Bend, Oregon held the USA Cycling Junior, U23, Elite Road National Championships. A full week of racing with 22 national titles on the line and all athletes competed for Stars and Stripes jerseys.

The week started out rough for the Land Rover-Orbea guys with crashes and tired legs, but it finished strongly with Bobby Sweeting bringing home the Silver in the downtown Criterium on Sunday. After only 10 laps into the 60-lap race, Sweeting along with Bjorn Selander-Trek Livestrong and Alex Howes-Felt/Holowesko broke off to set a pace the field could not match. They quickly accelerated to hold over 25 seconds on the field. With the last lap to go the three were still out front and it came down to an exciting three man sprint. Sprinting past Selander, Sweeting took the silver medal for a great finish to the week.

Finishing with the front of the field - also on his Rolf Prima Vigor's - was Jacob MacArther riding for the Hagen-Bermans Team, sprinting across to take 9th.
