Guy Crawford takes 2nd at Ironman 70.3 Korea
Attracting a strong field of Pros, the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Korea kicked off this past weekend, on the same day as the full distance Ironman Korea. A start time of 9am for the 70.3 meant the run would be done in the heat of the day.
Second out of the water and only seconds behind, Guy Crawford followed the leader, Kieran Doe into T1 with Cameron Brown quick on their heels. Out on the bike, Crawford set a fast pace on the challenging 56-mile course and entered transition with Doe and Brown just seconds apart from each other. On the run, Brown pushed the pace putting the pressure on his pursuers and eventually pulled away from Crawford and Doe. With the heat and humidity takings it toll, Crawford settled into a rhythm on the run and held on for a strong second place finish.
"The run course in Korea is brutal. It consists of hills, hills and more hills and NO shade... Its relentless." Said Crawford at the end of the run.
Crawford races on a set of Rolf Prima TT58 Disc wheels.
