Jesse Thomas takes 3rd at Rev3 Costa Rica, Emily Cocks, locks up 4th
Representing Rolf Prima at the latest Rev3 race in Costa Rica were pro triathletes Jesse Thomas and Emily Cocks. After an early wakeup call for the 6am race start, both Jesse Thomas and Emily Cocks made their way to the start line.
The swim start was fast and furious, but Emily Cocks quickly found a groove and exited the water with the lead women’s group. In the men’s field, Jesse Thomas found the front of the pack to be tight and aggressive. As everyone fought to hold their place, Jesse’s swim cap was pulled off and he lost a little time getting his goggles clear. Falling back in the group, Jesse pushed on and exited the water a little over two minutes behind the leader.
The bike course led the athletes out of town on steep hills. Jesse, determined to make up needed ground, set a blistering pace on the bike and began to chase down the leaders. Entering T2, Jesse was in 8th place, while Emily had raced herself into 3rd in the women’s field. The run leg consisted of two laps with hot, hilly sections and loose, sandy beach. . Jesse continued to pick the competition off one by one in the run and crossed the finish line taking 3rd overall.
Emily ran hard and locked up 4th overall for the day. Jesse Thomas raced on the Rolf Prima TdF60 Disc combo. Emily Cocks chose the Rolf Prima Ares6 front and Ares8 rear combo.
