New for 2010 and the climbing wheel choice of pro road Team Vera Bradley Foundation, the Dauphine wheel set is light and svelte. Based on our Élan platform, the Dauphine is designed for the lighter female rider who is tired of using wheels made for heavier men. By reducing rear-wheel spoke count, we can shave off additional weight compared to the already extremely light Élan, creating an even faster climbing and accelerating wheel set.

Rims: The Dauphine wheel set features 23mm deep, single cavity, semi-aero rim profile and narrow spoke bed, significantly decreasing the weight of the Dauphine rim. Brake sidewalls are CNC-machined for smoothness and consistency.


Hubs: Dauphine rims are laced to the TdF3.4 proprietary hub, designed and manufactured in the USA. The front hub has a unique 85mm wide flange placement which increases the lateral wheel stiffness by nearly 20%. The rear hub features our Patented Differential Flange Diameter, which doubles the number of pulling spokes and creates a more durable wheel. Both hubs are fully CNC machined and feature oversized axles, increasing the wheel durability and stiffness without increasing the wheel weight.


Freehub: CNC machined Titanium freehub body has 3 independently sprung steel pawls for a bomb-proof torque transfer system.  This system is strong, simple and dependable.


Spoke & Nipple: The Dauphine wheel set features paired, 14/17 gauge custom butted profile spokes with internal alloy nipples and nylon inserts, to create a quicker accelerating, faster climbing wheel with superior, long-term durability. Our Patented, Self Aligning Nipple™ design increases spoke life. Self-locking thread technology ensures wheels stay true.


Extras: Rolf Prima Dauphine wheel systems include custom reinforced rim tape and steel quick release skewers.
